Behind this access to the castle keep is a small room, from where the large room on this floor and the spiral staircase to the floors above are accessible. The access to the keep could be shut with a heavy door, which would have been secured with a locking bar. The recess in the wall for the locking bar, with its casing of wooden boards has been completely preserved.
