House Rules

House Rules

Dear visitors,

We are very pleased to welcome you to Boppard Museum! However, we would like to point out that it is essential that certain rules are followed not just to protect the interests of our visitors, but also items on display in the exhibitions. These house rules apply to all visitors.

Museum

Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the museum.

Pets are not allowed in the museum.

Cloakroom

You may use our cloakroom to deposit items of clothing during museum opening times. Larger bags, rucksacks, umbrellas, walking sticks, and back carriers for children are to be handed in at the cloakroom. The exception is the use of walking aids required for medical reasons. Due to space restrictions, there is only limited storage available for suitcases. The Museum shall not be held responsible for the cloakroom or the content of the lockers. Items are deposited at the owner’s own risk.

Collections and exhibition rooms

Visitors are not permitted to carry items of clothing over their arms in the collection and exhibition rooms for reasons of conservation and safety.

Food and drink, or any other liquids, are not permitted in the collection and exhibition rooms. Our cloakroom is available for storage of such items. Please use the appropriate rooms provided for the care of babies and infants on the ground floor.

Prams, buggies and wheelchairs, including both manual and electric wheelchairs suitable for indoor use, may be used in the museum.

Please keep the required safety distance to exhibits.  If there is an announcement, always follow any information or instructions given. Exhibits are not to be touched under any circumstances.

Please respect other visitors by keeping noise to a minimum. Phoning is not permitted anywhere in the museum.

We are particularly happy to welcome our younger guests and ask that those accompanying them ensure the safety of exhibits and consideration towards other visitors at all times.

Passages and emergency exits are to be kept clear. Emergency exits are only to be used in an emergency.

Photos, films, and audio recordings

Photographs without flash are permitted in Boppard Museum for personal use. However, photographs must not be taken in special exhibitions. Written authorisation is required from Boppard Museum for commercial or editorial photos, film, and audio recordings. The commercial use of any such photographs and recordings, or the use of additional lights (flash, video lighting etc.) and tripods, is not permitted unless prior authorisation has been granted by the Museum.

Supervisory staff

Supervisory staff have been instructed to ensure that the House Rules are observed. For this reason, always follow their instructions. If the House Rules or instructions issued by supervisory staff are not followed, the persons concerned may be banned from the premises by a Museum representative. The admission charge will not be reimbursed in this case.
We will be glad to help you with any questions or suggestions you may have.

We hope you enjoy your visit to our museum!
